- Don't take any chances.
Hosting a party can be difficult enough as it is.
Following these simple guidelines to reduce the risks.
RESPONSIBLE HOSTING
- Always provide alcohol-free beverages: pop, bottled water, coffee, tea, non-alcoholic beer or punch.
- Serve snacks and have food available throughout the party. Offer a little extra and avoid drinking on an empty stomach. Pro Tip: Avoid salty, sweet or greasy foods as guests will become thirstier. Instead offer high protein foods: veggies, dips, bread and meat.
- Serve drinks yourself or hire a CREWMEN to bartender. Guests usually drink more when they self serve. If someone get out of hand our bartenders we will assist you with any guest who drinks too much.
- Be chill. Limit any physical activities to board games, karaoke or dancing. Drinking related injuries are never fun.
- Gradually lower the amount of alcohol being served. Ideally, stop the bar an hour before the designated end of the party. This is the perfect time to bring our non-alcoholic drinks and/or food.
- As guest start to leave (of even as they arrive) determine how they will be getting home. Promote the use of designated drivers or have them leave their vehicles at home and take public transportation or cabs instead.
- Never allow anyone to drink and drive or ride with anyone who has been drinking. Have cash around and pay the extra cab fare. It may just save a life.
- Expect the unexpected and be prepared for overnight guests. Got clean sheets? Towels? A comfy couch?
- Don't drink too much yourself. As the host, you have to stay on top of it all. Having a clear mind will avoid potential problems and you'll react quicker to any situation.
